Social Media Breakfast New Hampshire is an entirely volunteer-run networking organization launched in 2009 by Leslie Poston with the intent to convene regional social media experts, marketers, bloggers, PR pros, entrepreneurs, techies, and web geeks. In 2013, Leslie passed the reigns on to Melanie Burger of Seacoast Social Media who is continuing on in the same vein of gathering inspiring speakers and like-minded individuals to present on and discuss various social media topics over delicious pastries and bagels.
We are a small spoke in the much larger wheel of the international SMB movement born in Boston in 2007, back when everyone was friends with Tom Anderson on MySpace, Facebook had just recently opened its doors to people without a university email account, and Twitter’s lifespan was being measured in months. The organization has since spread to over 50 chapters around the world.
We meet monthly on the third Thursday at 8:30 a.m. and feature a speaker or panel dedicated to sharing focused social content. Throughout the rest of 2013, all breakfasts will be held at New Hampshire Public Radio’s Studio D in Concord. We do charge a very small fee ($5) to attend a breakfast which is used to offset operating costs and help cover continental breakfast items.
